RCL project shortlisted by Lux Awards Middle East Judges
Today, judges for the Lux Awards Middle East have announced the shortlist, and amongst the nominations for the awards was DPA's scheme for the Qela Boutique store in Doha, which features more than 330 remote controlled luminaires from RCL.
The lighting scheme for the store communicates the luxury of the Qela brand with its sumptuous use of layers, with the use of highly controllable accent lighting for merchandise and artwork throughout the store contrasts against the softer background lighting. It's no suprise that such a spectacular scheme has now been nominated for the Retail Project of the Year award.
The installation at Qela saw a large number of remote controlled DR8 spotlights and recessed multi-directional luminaires from the DR7 family, and the luminaires were controlled by RCL's iDirect app, a unique iPad application that allows full control of the luminaires from ground level with a swipe of a finger. The full project reference is available to read here.
The winners of the awards will be annouced on 14th April 2016 as part of LuxLive Middle East; the first time that Europe’s largest annual lighting event will visit the region. RCL's sister company, Precision Lighting will also be in attendance exhibiting their latest range of architectural LED luminaires.
