RCL Supplies 815 lights For Grand Hyatt Shenzhen, China

31.08.2009

RCL has supplied 815 remote controlled projectors to the new Grand Hyatt Hotel in Shenzhen, South China, which opens at the end of 2009.

The lights, which have been specified by Singapore-based lighting designer Project Lighting Design (pld@pld.sg.com), will be controlled by DMX512 and RCL's proprietary 'Select & Direct' protocol. 'Select and Direct' allows non-skilled users to aim and dim lights individually using a simple handheld controller.

The project will use RCL's fully recessed DR7 luminaire and the new DR8 in a number of variants. The DR7's will be installed in new trimless mounting rings whilst the DR8s will be in monopoint format. Lamp sources chosen by PLD include: QR111, CDM-R111 and, in a new lamphead, PAR56.

RCL has already supplied lights to 14 hotels in the Hyatt Group including six Grand Hyatt Hotels as diverse as Dubai, Berlin and Bali.
